Who We Work With

Expert K9 Solutions is focused on privately owned pet dogs – family companions, not police or military dogs. If your dog lives in your house, rides in your car, and sleeps on (or tries to sleep on) your couch, this is the program built for you.

We’re also part of the Black Dog America network, which provides advanced working-dog, K9 handler, and security-focused training. Pet dog owners start here. Agencies, casinos, and working-dog programs can find more options at BlackDogAmerica.com.

Our Training Philosophy

Training shouldn’t turn your dog into a robot. The goal is a dog that understands what’s expected, has an outlet for their energy, and can settle when it’s time to relax with the family.

We focus on:

  • Understanding why your dog does what they do
  • Refocusing unwanted behaviors instead of just punishing them
  • Giving you simple, repeatable handling skills you can actually use
  • Making your dog a stable part of your family, not a daily frustration

What Makes Us “Expert”

Expert K9 Solutions is owned and operated by a career law enforcement K9 professional with decades of experience selecting, training, and deploying dogs in real-world environments. That same experience is now applied to the problems pet owners deal with every day:

  • Pulling on leash and ignoring commands
  • Jumping on guests and poor house manners
  • Overexcitement around people and other dogs
  • Struggling to listen when distracted

You get the benefit of high-level K9 experience, translated into fair, practical training for family dogs.

Training Options for Pet Dogs

Every dog and household is different. Programs are customized, but most fall into a few core categories:

Puppy Foundations

For puppies roughly 10 weeks to 6 months old. Build good habits before bad ones take hold.

  • Name recognition and focus
  • Crate, potty, and routine building
  • Gentle leash work and engagement
  • Introduction to sit, down, come, and place

Family Obedience

For adolescent and adult dogs that need structure and clear rules around the house and in public.

  • Heel, sit, down, stay, come, place
  • Calm behavior at the door and around guests
  • Impulse control and focus around distractions
  • Handler skills you can use anywhere

House Manners & Problem Solving

Targeted work on the issues that make home life stressful.

  • Jumping, barking, counter-surfing
  • Doorbell chaos and door rushing
  • Furniture rules and boundaries
  • Custom plans for specific problems

Pricing and session structure are set after an evaluation, based on your dog, your goals, and your schedule.

How It Works

  1. 1. Initial Contact

You send an email with your dog’s age, breed, and the main issues you’re seeing. We’ll reply with available times and a recommendation for next steps.

  2. 2. Evaluation

We meet, look at how your dog behaves in real life, and talk through your goals. You’ll get a straight, honest assessment of what it will take.

  3. 3. Custom Training Plan

Together we choose the program that fits: number of sessions, location, and focus areas. No long-term contracts, no gimmicks.

  4. 4. Coaching & Follow-Through

We train the dog and coach you. The goal is a clear, workable plan you can maintain after the formal training is done.
